Currently, I serve at the University of South Carolina as a Multimedia and Educational Technology Specialist on the Distributed Learning Team within the Center for Teaching Excellence. Here I co-direct the daily operations of the video production studio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible content in alignment with WCAG and ADA standards. In collaboration with faculty, staff, and degree programs, I design, develop, and produce instructional videos using Adobe Premier Pro, Camtasia, and a variety of other tools to support course goals and increase student engagement. I also produce multimedia content for professional development, marketing, and special initiatives, including interviews, podcasts, webinars, and conferences, managing all aspects of planning, setup, and recording across diverse formats and locations. Additionally I advise faculty on selecting, testing, and integrating video, multimedia, and instructional technologies into course design to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. To further support faculty development, I deliver webinars and workshops on best practices and innovative tools, leveraging platforms like Blackboard, Zoom, and Panopto.
In my previous role as an eLearning and Media Multimedia Training Consultant I provided administrative, training, and troubleshooting support for the LMS (Blackboard), Video Editing and Hosting Software (Panopto), Video Conferencing Software (Zoom) and conducted other LMS System Administrator duties. I also created, updated, and facilitated in-person, and virtual workshops and webinars for faculty and TAs on best practices and various aspects of teaching and learning technologies. I also served as an Instructional Designer for the University of South Carolina, Upstate, where I provided additional educational consulting services and lead the re-design of 15+ courses with a focus on course accessibility.
Prior to this I served at Winthrop University in the Office of Online Learning as the Online Learning and Instructional Technology Support Specialist where I provided technical training and troubleshooting support for Blackboard and its integrated software. I also served as an Adjunct Instructor for the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. During this time, I designed and developed accessible and interactive learning activities and instructional materials included, but not limited to course outlines, lesson plans, instructor guides for future instructors, and student manuals to be used in two different course views (Blackboard Original Course View & Ultra Course View). Here I also designed and developed simulations to assist in the maintenance of an online learning environment with a flipped classroom model. Simultaneously, I completed my second Masters Degree; a Masters of Education in Learning Design and Technology from Winthrop University.
I am also a state certified educator in South Carolina for Health Science Technology and a subject matter expert in Health Science and Sports Medicine. While as a Teacher, I designed and adapted curriculum to be taught in person, hybrid, and fully virtual e-learning settings for 12 different courses with over 200 learners. I also designed in-person, hybrid, and fully virtual e-learning training simulations and skill based formative and summative assessments.
Prior to teaching, I received a Master’s Degree from Winthrop University in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management, where I also served as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I taught in the Basic Instruction Program where I was able to hone in on learning how to teach with accessibility and safety in mind.
